This new edition of 334 pages by LRT Editions is heavily illustrated with artwork depicting scenes from the Napoleonic Wars and shortly after.
I have the distinct privilege of having more than 30 of my artworks displayed alongside the art of Ernest Meissonier, Edouard Detaille, Alphonse DeNeuville and JOB.

Many of their works which appear in this book are rarely, if ever, reproduced.
A number of my works in this book have never before been published.
Much of the artwork is reproduced in color adding to the high quality of this edition.

Cavalry Outpost Duties by DeBrack

Written in 1831 by one of Napoleon's cavalry commanders, this amazing book covers the practical, everyday occupation of the light cavalry.
Written with an anecdotal flair, DeBrack draws on his years of service in the saddle to bring the daily work of the cavalryman to life.
Chapters such as 'Clothing and Equipment', 'Spies and Messengers', 'Advance-Guards', 'Charges' and 'Morale', to name but a few
of the 43 sections, transport the reader to the life in this branch of service during the 19th Century.
It's style is crisp and fresh though more than 175 years have passed since its first publication.

Un très bel ouvrage avec de nombreuses illustrations (Messonier, Détaille, Rocco, ....).

LRT = Société créée en Janvier 2008, bonne chance à ses créateurs.

Bonjour, si je dois résumé ce livre et si je comprend bien c’est les mêmes écrit du fameux livre de chevet « Avant-postes de cavalerie légère » de F de Brack mais avec des illustrations superbes et écrit en français, bien évidement le format change.

J’insiste le texte est a l’identique ? ou presque a l'indentique ?

Lorsque j'ai discuté avec l'éditeur, celui-ci m'a affirmé que c'était une ré-édition fidèle de l'édition originale.

Ayant le livre, je peux faire des vérifications si vous le souhaitez.

Vous qui connaissez le travail de Keith , du moins sa manière de peindre, je suis sur que l'homogénéité des illustrations sera parfaite.
Je ne connaissais pas cette maison d'édition avant de recevoir le mail cité par Corso.
Par contre il me semble ne pas avoir vu le prix.

Mes enfants m'ont offert ce livre ce matin pour la fête des pères.

C'est un superbe ouvrage avec des illustrations magnifiques et le texte pour ce qui ne le connaisse pas (si si ça existe ^^ ) est sous la forme question/réponse.

du genre :Arrivé au gîte que fait le commandant? ou quel soin devez vous avoir pour vos armes à feu...

un seul bémol la couverture est souple, il va falloir le manier avec précaution.
